First details of some of the 2019 SRPS steam tours now available:
    • Sunday 5th May: 60009 'Union of South Africa' - Linlithgow to Aberdeen & Return
    • Sunday 19th May; 60163 'Flying Scotsman' - Forth Circle Route (twice)
    • Sundays 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th August; TBA - Linlithgow - Tweebank & Return
Exciting first half of the year - I expect the tour to Aberdeen to be very popular!

Would love SRPS to do another trip on the Highland Mainline, the last one with 46115 will live long into the memory, but is now over 6 years ago. Alas, one off trips seem few and far between on this route.

That trip with number 9 on the other hand does look very tempting...

I was on that trip; started at Glenrothes. A very good value Travelodge nearby, and a similarly good value Travelodge at Dundee where I baled out on the return. I really enjoyed the trip, especially as waits for crossing trains on the single track gave opportunities for photography. SRPS trips have always in my experience been well organised and it is only because I live at the opposite end of the UK that I don't go on a lot more.

Only a couple of days to now until number 9's second trip to Aberdeen this week! Tickets arrived, 08:40 off Linlithgow, can't find anything on RTT, any ideas anyone?

60009 arrived at Bo'ness in the early hours of yesterday morning so that is one hurdle cleared. The SRPS staff website shows a Linlithgow arrival at 08.35 and departure at 08.40 on Sunday morning.

Still time for it to go up on RTT.

No. Loco being prepped at Bo'Ness today with pic posted on SRPS FB page. RTT commonly has this issue with odd trains for a host of reasons. SRPS website shows station times if they are a help.

Thank you for that KRM, yes I’ve seen those times and planned my hectic day around them!
I feel the need to see her as often as possible given the circumstances and pay respects and support to JC - he certainly deserves it!

Nice spell of running between Perth and Dundee with running in the high 70's, arrived nearly 10 early - now taking water.
Some nice noise from front, not much detected from rear - just a nudge to get us going - couple of times no 9 seemed to stop centre and had to set back a little on earlier pick ups.

Shot past the signal box at Errol at the limit, gorgeous sight and a soundtrack to match. How many more times will we see a BR Green A4 on a full rake of maroon Mk1s along this stretch of line?!

Love the picture at Ferryhill in particular. Brings back memories of fifty three years ago when in April, 1966 I saw her there in the company of my almost namesake, 60004.

Great day out today, made to feel so welcome by the SRPS stewards. Lovely trip, scenery and a lively performance by number 9. Was surprised we clocked nearly 300 steam miles today.
It is a long way for us from Mid-Wales, but I have feeling we will be back again at some point for another Scottish steam trip. Thanks to everyone involved!
