    Ive come to the bank holiday monday gala on this one cos on saturday i did the yvns mons express to holyhead i were too tired to do sundays action and a bit disappointed i missed out on the class 88001 but glad to ride behind 41001 although i been to G.C.R. Ruddington before but only rode behind the 8F and Douglas down there.

    20190506_100316.jpg According to rail advent news 41001 taken out of service and not able to attend the S.V.R. diesel festival but when i was at the K.V.W.R. mixed traffic gala on monday 6th may i was on it on the 9:25am service it was ok then and in the afternoon 47739 was towing 41001 up and down the remainder of the day can anyone on nat pres shed more light on why it broke down?

    As per the release from the 125 Group, the loco started to show signs of a possible problem during the weekend. It has been stopped for investigation as a precaution rather than carry on running and potentially suffer a major failure.

    It will still be at the SVR, as will the 125 Group's coaches, but unfortunately 41001 will be on static display only.

    The whole team are gutted by this, but feel it is the correct course of action to protect 41001 in the longer term.

    A small selection from the gala, the numbers travelling certainly looked good for the first three days so lets hope the railway keep this back as an annual fixture . Congratulations to gala organisers Kieran Pilsworth, Tim Moody and James Horrell, it was an excellent weekend.
