Motive power will be announced nearer the time, it's still June and a lot can happen in the intervening period.
SRPS are the best source of that sort of info and will no doubt know well before any NP members.

It will be one of the Riley Pool (45407/44871, 45212) for sake of clarity. No specific engine requested; it will depend on what best suits the loco owner and may even change (as it has before) mid way through the schedule.

Looking forward to seeing the borders specials running this August. First one is on Sunday. Will the times published for this week apply each week?

Could someone please tell me whether the train will be turned round tonight so that 44871 is boiler first out of Linlithgow next week?

Previous years have either seen the Black 5 return to Fort William, removing the need for a turning move, or use of the triangle at Carmuirs.

Tonight, neither happened (nor were scheduled to it seems), so No. 44871 has arrived back at Bo'ness currently facing West. Could prove interesting for next week....

Presumably will either join the other Black 5s at Fort William or will return south

That's a lot of long stoppages. Wonder if that will end up running considerably early later on?

Yes, over 8 hours to get from Carstairs to Tebay is quite impressive on the looping front.

44871 looked lovely in the morning for when I passed her at Boness junction this morning on the way to work. Would have loved to have gone for a spin but duty calls.

Last SRPS steam for 2019 completed. Any hints for 2020?

Possibly a bit early to be asking considering the first SRPS tours generally aren't until Spring of the season, and previously has been commented that hints won't be given out?

It's a long way (+expensive) for me to do an SRPS trip, so it has to be a special itenary for it to be worthwhile, although I do enjoy the SRPS experience with meals being available for all. I thoroughly enjoyed no 9's trip to Aberdeen this year.
Anything north of Perth would however tempt me...
