Depends who is doing the riding I suppose, and whether its a 4 cylinder or twin, a twin will definitely get the lady region motivated....

Or to save having to log in if not a member, try https://www.branchline.uk/fixture_set_id.php?id=230 for booking details. A mere £65, plus £12 surcharge if you aren't a BLS member (NB - that's Branch Line Society, not Bahamas Locomotive Society;)).

:(That's masochism, 12 minutes on a local Leeds train and you lose the will to live.

Happy days doing a bit of spotting on Hobeck High Level after being thrown/chased out of Copley Hill.

Currently sampling my last ever (hopefully) run on a 142 from Southport. God they're awful after the refurbished 150 I had this morning!

Too busy sampling the wares at Leeds CITY when passing through on the original WAVERLEY; Royal Scot in and hoped-for A4 out; sadly the experiment had been completed and our steed was Holbeck's 44852 but replaced by an A3 at Carlisle. As a point of interest I noted the Leeds - Morecambe waiting to depart - behind 45560 Prince Edward Island piloted by 45543 Home Guard hauling 10 Stanier coaches - slightly different from a Pacer of either ilk. Happy Days were the early 1960s !!.

I see from another forum that Pacers are covering the 37 turns at Cardiff. The 37's were of course due to the non delivery of 769's which were to cover the withdrawal of Pacers!
Victor they will never go away!

I wish sometime the class 40,s and 45,s would have carried on running the the Newcastle Liverpool service via dewsbury on Mk 2 coaches but needed turning on loops been loco hauled and soon after the class 90,s and later the 185,s took charge in 2006 and the nova trains taking their place soon. Premier dining ?? now there's an idea..........of course they'd have to come up with an idea to stop the gravy sloshing about, and there'd be trouble if the wine got spilt:).

I do like the idea of one child in the article who thought they could be used as greenhouses. A nice touch and a child who has been well educated.
As for Victor, I'm sure he could still use a disc cutter and a lump hammer......

    Cheers, Neil

    Cheeky bugga.;)

My views on these heaps of misery are well known, mainly it involves a few litres of unleaded and a match.
The damn things have scarred me for life.............Carlisle, Leeds, Morecambe, AND...........down the hill from Morley Tunnel to Dewsbury:eek::eek:
There's a bad track lurch at Batley station, it's been there for a long time, when the 185's hit it it's a case of 'hang on', now, thankfully the Pacers have a stop at Batley thank god, because if a Pacer were ever to hit that track lurch at speed it's a sure bet that it would go walkabout off the top of the viaduct.

Although Mrs V has a thing for a 2 car 142 on the Bentham Line, can't think why.;)
