So it says on the T.S.R. Report that they are in early stages of planning to leasehold or buy the entire N.R. branch from madley jct to buildwas after they reach doseley and lightmoor and put a bridge in place over a road (and all this is going to take more fundraising i guess) to complete phase 3 to ironbridge, so does this mean when ironbridge power station comes down apparently is some of the rubble and scrap going out by rail it would make sense to do it that way so it increases the chanches of the N.R. retaining the existing tracks besides the T.S.R. also wanting the track for future projects. What is the timescale then for the entire project to be completed in if all these ambitious plans go ahead cos phase 1 to lawley bank looks to be well under way already.

Dunlop no 6 at Spring Village Station today. According to the TSR Facebook site, it is due to return to the Chasewater Railway on Tuesday D7F06FDB-7315-480B-9A2B-ED3A67300733.jpeg

Popped down to Horsehay yesterday and was pleased to see Peckett No 1967 Merlin/Myrddin back in steam after (I think) a retube. Probably the angle of my photograph, but Merlin looks about half the height of the coach!

Great article about Telford and Ironbridge in the latest Heritage Railways Magazine. Big ambitions but certainly not impossible for TSR to acheive if all the external factors come together.

The T.S.R. most certainly should have every right due to historical significance horsehay coalbrookdale and iron bridge have in due to kickstarting the industrial revolution in our industrial history in the 1700,s and 1800,s with abraham darbys family development of iron making and the numerous visitors annualy who must come to see iron bridge in the flesh. A great reason why the T.S.R. and madeley jct to buildwas should be expanded to ironbridge i would suggest.

Interesting to note TSR are operating Wensleydale's Polar XP service this year.

PNP Events was setup as a separate company by the key people who ran the Telford Polar Express as volunteers. Running Telford PE as volunteers had become virtually impossible in spare time alongside full time jobs now due to it's success, so careers have been changed in order for the event to continue to thrive. So it is the same key people, but absolutely not TSR running Wensleydales event. Hope this clarifies things a bit.

So is PNP made up of Telford volunteers though? And profit from PNP events will benefit TSR?

Hopefully they can overcome it, I remember for a long time the Avon Valley Railway was quite restricted by a limit on the days they could operate, not when it changed but used to be a maximum of 80 days, this year they are running 120 but hopefully in the case of the TSR they can see the wider community benefit as they did at the AVR.

I had a peek through the group and theres so much NIMBY handwringing about locos steaming up, something about tree and the environment. Little about economic benefits locally that isn't those that support TSR.

Where was that? I found more comments saying how lovely it was to have a little railway so close to them. Made me think it's just 1 or 2 people whinging more than a group of people.

Whatever the one at the bottom of the article mentioned is called on Facebook. A peak through today shows some more positive discourse.

    Hi all

S160 5197 has arrived at Telford for the ‘Polar Express’ that runs from 23 November until the 23 December. Today was a full dress rehearsal, and it was great to see 5197 looking the part with her headlight, bell and cow catcher already in place.

    Cheers
