Probably less likely with a Q, but I have photos of Maunsell Moguls with both GWR stock (pre-war, on the Salisbury - Westbury Line) and post War, Sunshine livery, with LNER Gresley teak stock on an inter-regional train. Probably not beyond the bounds of possibility that a Bournemouth based Q from time to time hauled LMS stock.

Sticking to this thread drift, I've always assumed SR locos would of been paired with GWR stock in parts of Devon and on the Didcot, Newbury, Soton Line.

They also worked GWR stock on through trains from Bristol and Cardiff via Westbury and Salisbury to Portsmouth and occasionally, the West Sussex coast line. I've seen a picture of an L12 at Chichester on such s train and also of a mogul on (I think) the Littlehampton branch with some GWR Stock in tow - probably a day excursion.

What has Mr Hitch done to upset you? Do you really want to bump him off with some serious 'WIBN'? And are you planning Buffet Cars in those rakes btw?;)

As a keen student of WIBN, past precedent suggests that carriages are exempt from WIBN, unless they provide practical things like catering facilities or toilets. :)

Could you imagine an SVR gala overnight without on train toilets or buffets? Nah lets not go there!

A heads-up for anyone like me who has been planning their trips around getting to good places to see the key trains with locos facing forwards.
2857 is now to be facing NORTH, not south as previously expected. So the ONLY daytime freight of the entire gala will now be tomorrow's northbound one, not the southbound... And that only north of Bewdley because:
43106 will be facing south, not north.
76017 will now be facing south on Thursday, but still north on the other days.

Thanks for the info. I can now hastily replan things much like your good self

Last night I wasted an hour of my life highlighting the smokebox first runs on the working timetable

43106 sat at Bridgnorth shed, don't know if something else has taken it's place in the timetable?

A few pointers needed if anyone can help, making my first visit to the railway for the ASG since 2012. How is the path that runs alongside Bridgnorth MPD and station accessed? Google maps doesn't offer any clues but I've definitely seens shots taken from here and couldn't work it out in 2012.

Similarly, is the small goods yard at the south end of Bewdley station accessible (opposite Bewdley Rock)? I've also seen shots from here.

Finally, is there a way down from Birchen Coppice into the field by the tunnel between Bewdley and Kidderminster? Looks a bit treed on Google Maps but thought there must be some way down there.

Any help would be much appreciated, rest assured I am travelling on the trains as well!

North end of the station, near where 82045 used to live, over the barrow crossing and round the back of all the workshops, follow the track until you come to the road under bridge and there's some steps to take you back up to ground level. Sometimes there's direct access off the south end of platform 2 with appropriate boundary markers to guide you across the yard throat.

Yep, along the car park past the goods shed:

Can't help on the tunnel, never done that location.

You can also go round in the opposite direction, using the underbridge for the road from the car park.
Something to note is that when the goods train is not in use it usually seems to be parked there in the way of the view.

And yes there is a path down through the woods that comes out on the edge of that field.

Would anyone be willing to share what is on the 08:25 ex Bridgnorth and the 08:50 ex Kidderminster tomorrow? Can't decide which end of the line to drive to!
