Personally I suggested the church at Glenfinnan, then we could all go to the dining car for food afterwards. ;)

Mate of mine did that some years ago. The river wasn't too deep on that occasion so he waded across not far from where it entered the Loch.

Safe drive John! Here's hoping Monday makes the journey worthwhile, an early success always makes the rest of the week feel better.

Looks like someone has been doing a bit of climbing for two of those shots.

I tried that last year, there’s a shot of both the Wetlands and Glenfinnan Viaduct from the top of that mountain. I completely underestimated the time taken to get up there so only got the Wetlands shot from about two thirds of the way up

Yes, I decided given the forecast I was going for a shot I'd wanted for a long time. Took about 45/50 mins to walk up to a spot where, as John says, I could see both the wetlands and the viaduct. I set off in a thick mist and it was very pleasant sitting looking at the mist down the valley slowly burning off. Rather surprisingly I got down in about 25 and got a photo of the train on the climb away from Glenfinnan!

Happily today seems to be a day where everyone up got something!
