7029 Clun Castle between Solihull and Olton.

 

Clear blue skies soon after Crewe, blending well with the blue class 20 at the rear. <BJ>

 

Don't I know it !
Progress of the clear skies in my direction seemed to stall -- 7029 near Whitmore between Pendolinos .

Clue Castle cruises across the Wales to England border at Chirk, before opening up on the climb to Chirk Bank

 

Having just breasted the summit of the climb to Searchlight Lane Jnc, Clun powers down the short single line section before rejoining the west coast mainline near Heamies Farm, Norton Bridge, on the outbound run to Chester. 12/10/19.

 

It really has been a dull week of weather.
For the second time this week the light by 5pm was just like a December afternoon.
Gobowen for the GW signal box and Wellington. At Wellington 7029 was just behind the preceding stopper and about 7 minutes early, the result being a gentle amble through the station on a single amber to a stop just after.

 

Going well past Searchlight Lane en route to Chester...

 

Beat me to it with a Gloomy Gobowen shot! From the other end of the platform, I guess there must be a speed restriction for the Castle here.
