Same schedule as the Citadel on the 9th, so it'll probably be the same for the other 2 later in the month.

Better southbound path using Plumpton loop then Tebay instead of a longer wait at Eden Valley and straight out onto the 1/125r.

As with The Citadel, on the outward leg, this stops for water at Langwathby instead of Appleby - anyone know why? Appleby has several advantages; passengers can get off the train to stretch their legs, visit the shop, buy ice cream and judging by the length of the queues many ladies prefer to use the station(ary) facilities. I hope that normal service is resumed next year.

PS there appear to be 2 threads for this trip.

From what I heard there can be problems getting a water tanker into the car park at Appleby, this is often full.

Yes as @ribble says, I understand it's to do with the difficulties in getting the tanker into the car park.

Is the Chatburn vice Hellifield stop due to the problems with the loop?

Yes,that's the case Ian.I recall James Shuttleworth giving an up date about this on another thread,he was confident the issue would be resolved by NR fairly soon

Thanks Ian, It has become common for WCRC trips not to water between Hellifield and Carlisle but to stop at Appleby for recreational purposes. Taking water at Chatburn means more miles and the need to take water, so if access is a problem at Appleby then Langwathby it is - mystery solved.

I mean the removal of Hellifield stop though, instead using Chatburn. Is that due to the problems with the loop at Hellifield?

Train reversal at Brewery Junction took longer than booked. Running about half an hour late by the look of things.
