Images from Royal Scot’s private charter to Holyhead today, compete with a brand spanking new “Irish Mail” headboard. Seen passing through the castle walls portal at Conwy on the outward and climbing away from Rhosneigr on the return. Full marks to LSL for effort on this one, almost felt like it could be the glory days! 4ACC7A82-94B0-42C9-9C1E-517546E134F0.jpeg 1F1B4A14-6D91-42F3-A36F-F40C4FE0C7E1.jpeg

Nice photo, but don't we have a photography thread for this sort of thing? (Or have I misunderstood the purpose of that thread?)

Headboard 100% correct for the route, much better than the totally inappropriate Royal Scot one they normally use.

Forgive me for being a novice with creating posts, threads and the like, I’m more than happy for an admin to move this to the correct location on the forum.

@60017 @henrywinskill @240P15 Thanks very much for the praise, means a lot that my efforts paid off in your eyes. Truly one of the best days photographing steam I’ve had in recent memory.

Super shots, very evocative of times gone by, thankyou for sharing. Took this old geezer right back 60 years to caravan holidays besides the North Wales Coast Mainline at Penmaenmawr, or in cottages on Angelsey.

Don’t, the photo is relevant to the thread. Nothing wrong with that at all

Anyone can put a like on a shot but its much more constructive to give an opinion.

It's my pleasure to share these with everyone who can appreciate them. So glad they've evoked childhood memories for you, thanks for sharing that with us. I honestly broke down in tears after the Rhosneigr shot, as to me it was the closest recreation of the old Irish Mail we've ever had, (a previous occasion used a rake of WR Mk1's) and the sight and sounds stirred up emotions that just overwhelmed me. I'm too young to have a proper connection to the days of steam, unlike many on NP, but I could feel a tinge of it yesterday afternoon, a magical experience that I hope LSL can repeat in the years to come.

If you look at other threads on specific tours you will find there are always shots and videos pertinent to that thread. The photography thread is more for members to show their collections.

Perhaps this one slipped under the radar somewhat with not being a public tour so there wasn't an existing thread until @Landshrew posted his two fine pictures; either of which I would have been quite happy to have taken myself. I'm not sure there s a beed for a seperate phoyography thread in addition to or instead of the tour thread.

Well done young sir, keep up the good work.
