I was up the line today & despite the weather, which was foul, the trains were packed, the WCB was doing a roaring trade from the moment it opened & folks were still turning up late into the afternoon after the rain had eased off!

 

Hoping to visit on Monday for 92212's last day in service. Anyone know what the other rostered loco will be?

Yes, the weather looks very good for Monday. Hoping to get a shot of 30925 in her new livery as well as I haven't seen her yet. Will she be in the yard?

I'm at work (sad face)

 

Had a fun day yesterday, despite it being a dank day, and for once no troublesome trucks were harmed during the course of it!

Got a final run behind 92212 , and the trains appeared to be busy without being rammed, the crews of both loco's put on a good show even after they'd swapped loco's - though the relief crew, otherwise known as the "Tea drinking society" seemed to send most of the day building up the courage to empty the pit.......

Looking on the MHR website the timetable is grey for the next few days but that does not seem to tally with any of the timetables listed before going back to blue for 1st jan?

What’s occurring like?

 

It's a 45 minute interval service until the first - clicking on the grey days takes you to it. Not sure why the first is showing blue instead...

 

Anybody know which locos are rostered for Wednesday 1st January? May visit and combine it with King Alfred buses running in Winchester

 

Not the best way of doing it. Someone I was talking to at Swanage last week when I said I thought the MHR was running up until Jan 1 said no they are not. If I was not unwell I would have planned a visit today but when I looked last week I took greyed out to be no train, so did not more investigation.
That 45 minute timetable with only limited time each end would have caused me to visit a few times during the year rather then the timetable that was in operation.

 

Looks like it will be 506 & 30925 as the Schools was being prepped for running today. I am just about to travel on the 9F's last round trip.

I also took that as no trains. If there had been we would have visited yesterday
