There is now a complete agreement with the NRM regarding the next ten years running on the main line and GCR. It is hoped that it could be running again by the end of next year. There is a similar agreement for the 04 - which also is hoped to be running again 2020/21.

There is a bit more work to be done on the boiler of 70013 before it goes to Tyseley. The frames have been jacked up and the driving wheels removed so that the roller bearings can be inspected. The pony and trailing trucks are being re-assembled.

The Roller bearings have passed their inspection and the wheels will go back into the chassis in the near future. The boiler is still outside the shed.

The plan is back end of 2020, but I suspect it will depend upon when the boiler is finished and returned.

I believe the driving wheels are back in the chassis. The boiler is still at Loughborough in front of the loco shed.

The boiler was still at Loughborough on Saturday, pretty much just an empty shell with no front firebox tube plate inside.

Needless to say, with the current "lockdown", that the boiler is still outside Lbro shed as of today. (Picture in "Thornbury" thread).

Good news that the tender roller bearings appear to be "As new" when stripped down and inspected.

I looked over the wall today and the boiler for 70013 is still outside the shed. The 04 boiler is also outside on a low bogie wagon.

Sources suggest that the Britannias had monel stays when built. Is this a change in design?
