Ex-LMS Royal Scot class 4-6-0 No. 46100 Royal Scot, on a loaded test run from Crewe to Crewe via Chester, Shrewsbury and Stafford, seen passing Beeston on 12th February.

Some 15 minutes before the above shot, immaculate BR Green liveried Class 37 diesel Nos D6817 and D6851 were also out on a test run from Crewe to Chester.

I thought 60009 is hauling the return from York on the valentines white rose run back to Ealing broadway so 60009 will be at southall for the cotswold venturer on 22nd feburary, unless its 46233 both ways on the valentines white rose tour.

A superb shot. That's a location I've not used for videoing yet. Is it Sytch Lane by any chance?

Stafford sees its second steam loco in two days as Royal Scot does what it must have done loads of times previously and races north towards Crewe while completing the usual test run circuit. IMG_9470 - Copy - Copy.JPG

Totally agree. Reminds me so much of seeing them brand new. First sighting was on spotting trips to Doncaster. On arrival one was usually stabled in the bay at the south end, presumably "running in". Very impressive to young eyes and have liked them ever since.
