As owner of the ventilated surviving design, it would be nice to pair them. But it’s a lot of work and for a similar price there are PMVs available in slightly better condition.

I was thinking the same - initially interested in saving a unique item until I saw that price. Very optimistic.

I see Swanage also have a few items advertised for sale in the latest Heritage Railway magazine; looks like a bit of a clear out is ongoing.

One hopes that won’t be the case... hoppers in particular are useful vehicles.

    FOR SALE
    LMS 'Tube' wagon M336550.
Believed now unique survivor of diagram D1675, built at Wolverton 1933.
Unfitted. Built with flat doors – later builds had angled doors and longer wheelbase.
Original livery would have been grey with 'LMS' in large letters.
Requires a complete rebuild likely to include new kerb rails, welding on the corner posts, all new wood.
Brake cross-shaft is bent, however a spare (off a fitted wagon) can be included with the sale.
Currently lying at Swithland on the Great Central Railway. Will be emptied of stored materials prior to sale.
    Open to offers. PM me.

The Somerset & Dorset Railway Trust, at Midsomer Norton, have purchased two 16Ton steel mineral wagons currently at the Swanage Railway: https://www.sdjr.co.uk/news/264-wagon-appeal
I believe they must be B160073 and ADB577004 and the S&DRT are now seeking funds to move them.

Our Operations Director at Llangollen tells me that we can dispose of two timber underframed box vans. One of these is an ex- RNAD vehicle . The main purpose of the exercise is to create extra siding space, so price will be basic value of scrap metal content. I will try to have a look at the condition of these in the next few days.

It's usually people with little railway knowledge that put carriages like this on eBay with extraordinary prices. It's quite surprising therefore to see that it's the Wells & Walsingham railway that's selling this example.

It might be a pre-emptive move, get some cash before things get nasty
