Scrap copper from a steam loco - a weird request

If I was your fiancée, I'd be slightly worried by the symbology of a ring made from part of a steam loco. I mean, which is your first love....?

She's actually quite into the idea. She's got a bit of a love for history and pre-war fashion, so she's enjoying telling people about the idea.

Plus, it was her buying me tickets for 60103's relaunch that reignited my childhood love of steam engines, so really it's her own doing.

 

I've got plenty of bits of scrap firebox/boiler stay at work if you want a small lump - send me a personal message and I'll see what I can do.

Bad news is that most of it is probably from a Hudswell Clarke PLA... I can't think of anything I'd less want to keep close to me for the rest of my life (possibly a bit of an Austerity?).

Again, potentially. We're giving it a few weeks to see how the situation evolves. I'm not overly optimistic though.
