Refrain from annoying you? Do you have any idea just how stuck up that sounds? Obviously not...

You haven’t mentioned the voiceover in the video. I trust then that the voiceover meets your high standards and doesn’t ruin the loco exhaust too much?

Boys! Boys! Lets not have a punch-up over bit of music! Like yourselves, I abhor the stuff on a video about our hobby. It adds nothing to the message. Better to request a change.

Josh! Josh! You've put your head above the parapet. Can you get someone who's responsible to resubmit it without the music? I don't know who that creator is in the credits. I guess he's nothing to do with the SR, and is more used to producing stuff for general consumption. Just think! No music and we just might get a contribution from MellishR!

The voiceover serves a purpose. The music serves only a negative purpose. I admit that this is one of my bugbears. The SR video is one of many that I have felt unable to watch, even though I would otherwise have wished to do so. In some instances there is only music, no other soundtrack, so one has the simple option of turning the sound off; but when I do that I do worry about possibly missing some commentary later on.

I have recently made substantial donations to some other causes and the SR isn't high on my list of priorities, but I hereby promise that I will make a donation if the video is re-posted without the music.

Now this sounds promising. I'm all for a fundraising challenge.
So if we re-edit the video with no sound and post it here, what am I bid? Hint ......
2 digit sums wont cut it.
3 digits might be worth making a phone call
4 digits and consider it done.

5 digits and we will make a video to your personal specification. Locos of your choice, presenter / narrator of your choice (within reason) etc.

So, not worth your bother for £99?
    Please explain the phone call.

You have to set thresholds somewhere! I wouldn't split hairs over £1 difference between 99 and 100 but given the work involved if it were £10 on offer I would say the time is better placed working on the next video or other campaign initiatives.
To the people that produced the video to see what is possible. But then I suspect some of them are already reading this.....

So whats it worth to you? Its a good cause...

OK, I'll promise £100 anyway, more if I like the video and feel generous.

I would have no more to say about the video at this moment, except that something said on the WSR thread expresses my feelings very well:
    I await a revised version.

Astonishing that music, used in context to create drama is causing so much angst. To be fair to all, the video was put together completely with volunteer effort, using volunteer editors, contributors and presenters.
I am very disappointed that some people find it so offensive to have a bit of music playing. If you donate however, I'm sure we can put a non music video up but you have to ask yourself do you really want people to go to that effort in a time of crisis?

"Offensive" only inasmuch as it represents a waste of effort which is actually counterproductive.
I would prefer them (and many others) to spare themselves the effort of adding the music in the first place.
Edited to show correctly what is quoting and what is my words.

I think as coronavirus has taken all the money they shouldn’t be worried about what the music is I don’t care if it was black sabbaths on it for all I care but they should be allowed to make funds however they want to. The more money they make now it won’t delay the new station for fuzzbrook and other projexts

So now I'm wondering....... Is there anyone out there who wouldn't donate if there was no sad music on the video?

Or in fact donate more if Black Sabbath did feature? Can I vote for Stairway to Heaven as the soundtrack on a future video or dosent that count?

If anyone used AC/DC I wouldn’t care a lot about it the fast beat might make people want to give more money and the sad songs are slow about it
