About 10+ years ago there was a USATC WW2 vintage 4-wheel mobile workshop "van" preserved on the Battlefield Line .
A quick search of the Heritage Register hasn't come up with anything obvious, so I assume it has been scrapped in subsequent years. Can anyone confirm?

Thanks, that would seem to be the vehicle in question. Having seen that one of the Dutch museums has made up a (short) rake of 3 restored USATC wagons recently, I was having a search to see if any of that WW2 stock survived here.
That appears to be the only one!

Possibly this one is another?: http://www.ws.rhrp.org.uk/ws/WagonInfo.asp?Ref=12262

Now that's interesting - I discovered some of the open wagons survived as late as the early 1990's in Mod use, but thought they were all scrapped. I take it that is owned by the same person as the van, given the location?

Presumably yes, although the open was never on the GWSR (to my knowledge) so not certain.

Having looked at Google Earth out of curiosity, there seems to be rather a lot of what appears to be rolling stock at that Wishaw location.....
