Manor's have survived well - 9 out of 29 built, and all have run in preservation.

The P class did do half badly - half of them were scrapped meaning that only half survived :(

22% of Bulleid Pacifics survive. (31/140) Imagine if we could say the same was true for Gresley, Peppercorn, Thompson Pacifics!

I suspect you be thinking Co.Antrim? There was a closely related 2-6-0st too, officially unnamed, unofficially The Bruiser, which clocked up an astounding mileage during it's life .... and (had history been kinder) would've been able to flatten Nunnery Bank with the heaviest trains the IMR might be likely to need.

Ooh .... you are a fickle lot! Just 'cos it looks like a pregnant version of the missing link between the IoM locos and the 3'-6" gauge Tasmanian C class. I'll have you know that loco shifted a fair percentage of Co.Antrim's coal output for the best part of six decades.

Though I've got to admit, the B&NCR (NCC's) VonBorries 2-4-2t (which trod the same metals) is a lot nearer the top of my lottery fantasy wishlist. :)

It look likes it wouldn't move the stock forwards, more that it would move the island backwards...

Nope, only two in the UK....!
(Speaking as a pedant of Manx extraction).
Seventeen in the British Isles, and more elsewhere (of which one survives in Norway).

GW Locos that made it. Don't think there are too many errors in this list.

    Thanks for that

So only four classes that have no survivors, one of them has only 9 members - the 47xx.

The rest are all 2 cylinder 4-6-0's, the Saints demise rather predates the preservation era, and the 4-6-0's are well represented in preservation.

Well, no, I only included classes that have either survivors or new builds. I reckon there have been around 120 more pure GWR classes that didn't survive, plus broad gauge, but many of them didn't make it out of the 19thC, but where do you draw the line? Even Churchward or later classes run into double figures.

In terms of numbers, which was the largest UK class to completely disappear? On the GWR the 310 Armstrong Goods represent the single biggest chunk, but I doubt they were the only large class of humble goods engine which suffered a mass extinction.
