Before West Coast's first tour, will they be running a light engine test run or not?

Ran as per the links in the post - was about 10 minutes early through Parkstone this morning returning to Eastleigh Works with 66745 and 66775 topping and tailing the unit and barrier vans
Due to come back again on Sunday evening
Not known if it has run under its own power or not

Thanks for replies. It's the bit to Skipton and back that intrigues me. Most of these kind of trips get to Hellifield then turn off ,or go back whence they came. Anyway I will pop out and have a look if it does indeed set off.

Wonder if that's the 'hybrid' rake for Statesman & Saphos tours for the foreseeable future??

45212 is already at Carnforth so I guess which ever of 44871/45407 goes to Carnforth next week will join up with 45212 to go north to Fort William. With 2 Jacobite Services a day from the start that means there will have to be 2 separate ECS moves with one featuring the pair of black 5s (afternoon stock) with the other one featuring the K1 (morning stock as the K1 is not air braked). There could be a scenario where both 44871 and 45407 go to Carnforth with all three black 5s eventually ending up at Fort William as happened for a couple of weeks in 2018.

A very old blurb that has been reused, as it's been several years since 45231 appeared on 'The Jacobite' and just as long since No. 45407 has done an autumn only stint.

K1 and two Riley operated 5's booked in for the season. Both morning and afternoon trains start from Wednesday 15th.

The plan is to have the K1 on the morning train on alternate weeks, starting from Sunday 19th July.
