What a fine loco, and its owners have been told to get lost!

    Good news. Thanks for posting.

Is that 6024 to the right? It looks as if it's been reduced in height and width more than I expected. ;) <BJ>

I am sure that you should perhaps have Photoshopped 53808 into, shall we say a certain Castle, 7027 in ex-works condition it would be far better received by the PLC and those who blindly support it.

But 7027 was never a GWR locomotive. Might suit the BR bland brigade, but

If there isnt anything useful to say I dont say it.

I suspect that there will be further developments that will cause things to kick off again

The large number of posters "liking"the picture of 53808 in the yard at Minehead must be an indication of the great affection there is for this "dear old friend". Have a good trip to MHR, hope to see you there next summer!

Must admit I’m looking forward to seeing her on the Mid Hants. Damn sight easier for me to get to than the WSR!

53808 hauling Southern stock over the Alps. It's going to be good ....

.....but not as good as when it returns to the WSR. <BJ>

53808 at the end of the day following testing in Minehead yard. All went well and so the next job is a bit of a brush and spruce up before the road transport arrives.

Social distancing - Dave, Steve and Paul have been part of the team working hard over the last few weeks to get the locomotive back into working order.

    Well done team!

    Andy.

.....probably when we get another of those aerial porcine displays familiar to long-time readers of this thread :)

In the meantime, I had the pleasure of a Spitfire circling around over my house this afternoon......

True enough but more than half of the preserved Manors are from the BR built batch and the noisy GWR-ites on the WSR want what they see as GW and nothing else is acceptable. And maybe they have made enough noise in the right and sympathetic quarters to get what they wanted.
