Northern Belle: 19/9, 3/10 & 17/10/20 + 16 & 17/12/20

Seen a post on the internet from a newspaper report that this is running on the 19th of September and the 3rd of October.

 

Update on the above, just received an email apparently there are 12 seats left on the September 19th run and 24 for the 3rd October trip, so it appears that the trains will be running

 

From an email received earlier looks like 17th October is also running, and again only has 24 seats left.

 

There's some times now on RTT for the 19th, heading north on the S&C and returning over Shap, stops at hellifield for 35 mins 11.21-11.56

 

Looking forward to seeing Lizzie this weekend, when was the last time she was out?

 

Well, if she's going to be out I would of expected some kind of test run this week, unless West Coast are happy with the current condition it's in. Anyone know the last time 6201 ran ?

 

I saw her on the CME last October and haven't heard since, happy to be corrected though

 

Same here but not sure if that was it's last run.

 

Last time was 12 October 19 and as far as a test run I believe nothing planned.

 

Might be worth watching RTT today as this shows Test Train to be a ThO working.

 

Neither of the test paths been activated for today (so far).

 

If it's running steam hauled tomorrow as advertised and being a heavy train I wonder if 35018 could be in the frame ?

 

It's the Northern Belle isn't it, so air braked only?

 

It will be 6201 because all the other Carnforth pool steam locos are vacuum braked only.

Just got booked onto the 17th October run, let's hope Boris doesn't have other ideas

 

Mrs W accompanied me to Oram’s Xng - plenty of photographers about in the fields. Lizzie looked a picture, highlighted by a burst of autumnal sunshine, the blowing draincock on the driver’s side heralded her arrival (2E). The resplendent Northern Belle stock hurried by with Windsor Castle in matching livery attached to the rear (and giving a fair push, thus ruining any attempts to be a “stealth diesel”).
