There are two groups with the same name, one has more 'members' than the other and seems to be more active. In the FB search you should be able to get to this list - Screenshot_20200924-090832~2.png
The livelier one is at the top, the one you are trying is at the bottom

Well the locomotive found work on the Paignton line in 2016 and their hills are far bigger than those in Somerset. :D
Maybe this is just another instance of the special thinking found in West Somerset.

Was there no one deputised? Seven months without someone with their eyes on the books seems peculiar.

"Churston station was (sic) at the top of a 1 in 67 rising gradient from Goodrington, with the line falling on to Kingswear at gradients of between 1 in 57 and 1 in 120."

The WSR is 1 in 65 up Washford bank. That's not a lot of difference.

The WSR has no watering facilities for 20 miles. Paignton locomotives do a round trip of a little over 13 miles, with all the climbing done within the first 10.5 miles.

A fair point. However doesn’t that make 4561 even less suitable for the WSR than 5542, given the lower water capacity of the 4500 class compared to the 4575 class?

Involving umpteen tons of water being lugged around for want of intermediate supply arrangements.

I wasn't saying 5542 or 4561 aren't suitable, just Paignton isn't a lot steeper than the WSR and locomotives are able to take on water more frequently.

I doubt 4561 will be hauling 8 coach trains over the WSR. It will probably be used more on 5 coach turns in the off peak periods, like 6412 did when that was WSRA owned and like 7752 did last year.

To be fair, the TSR is a lot shorter than the WSR, if water capacity is an issue.

Yes, there was. The details can be found in the 2020 AGM documents on the WSRA website.

I think that you are barking up the wrong tree in the harresment idea. I understand there is a WSRA trustee that has issued a threatening letter to A N Other on the Railway

Umpteen tons? I think that you exaggerate a fair bit. The difference between 1200 and 1000 gallons is 200 gallons and that works out at a mere 2000 lbs. And as crews will invariably fill the tanks at any intermediate column, the difference in gallon miles of water carried is negligible.

Would that be a threatening letter in the legal sense, possibly in response to actions A N Other is alleged to have taken, or a different form of harassment?

I was thinking more of the difference between 1,000 and 3,500 as in many G.W.R. tenders.

Difficult - it is said it is an absolute basket case and look how long it took to 7828!!

Was Robin White wise to buy it? Probably not but then it did come with the possibility of a further six months use, boiler wise. and if my memory serves me correctly, but when it was examined it was condemned as unusable.

That possible six months use was the reason why I voted to sell 6412, something I now regret!

Very strange whatever I do I cannot find it!

    I give up
