Yes, try and get to Scotland once or twice a year if we can. We are booked on the 25th, unfortunately don't get up there until the day before, so will give you a wave!

 

I'll be on my way home on the 25th, chasing the Tin Bath around Lancashire!

 

Here's a couple from 10 days ago - high above Essan/bothy on Loch Eilt and at the tunnels at Leachbhuidh just after Glenfinnan summit - with thanks to the crews. Oh what a trek. 45212 on the afternoon train, where I left my microphone high up on the mountain, which I discovered upon my return to the car and had to go all the way back to get it - a 3 hour round trip.

 

I assume that the exhaust at the tunnel was by request as its well over the summit there.

Surprised this has gone unmentioned, but there were crazy scenes with 62005's ECS move - seems the local papers picked up on the 'Harry Potter train' and *thousands* turned out. It's great to see the interest in steam but... yikes.

Indeed - this was the scene at Dalmuir where I was waiting to take over as fireman. Who needs Flying Scotsman to create a crowd when you have a K1?

Blimey. Was only four of us waiting for it going north back though Possilpark station in July and that was the K1 and 45407 plus stock. I'm quarantining otherwise I would have gone out but glad I didn't as that looks mad. I'd noticed it had been put in the press but hadn't realised that previous moves hadn't been. It's good to see there is such an appetite for steam in Glasgow though, hopefully it'll mean we might get the odd excursion leaving from up here.

 

Yes, so thankfully no need for face masks on stations in that area.

 

Idiotic scenes.

 

Unfortunately, something those on the station didn't seem to realise.

 

I enjoy the spectacle of a steam train thundering through a station as do many others. What I will not do is jeopardise the chance of ever seeing one again.

Covid-19 is as virulent today as it was at the outset. If Boris could reduce the safe distance to 2'' he would. For me it's still 2 metres.

As the virus intensifies once again let's all be sensible and stay safe. <BJ>

 

Just hope we don’t a significant spike as a result of this but I fear we will. Can you tell me who the other crews involved in Monday’s positioning move?
