What's this about a bomb scare? Where and when? One of the WSR factions trying to frame one of the others as troublemakers?

It was a couple of years ago, rabbits managed to unearth a potentially unexploded WWII bomb which ended up on or near the line.

Why on earth not? If you were "following" that site on FB you would get an automatic alert that an update had been issued. What could be easier or simpler? Surely that is one of the main points of social media.

As has been said before, the big advantage of FB is that it can be updated in seconds by anyone with admin access, and for that reason will increasingly be the quickest way to inform the largest number of people? Obviously a few won't like that, but I can't see it changing.

Once a decent signal was being received would it not be wiser to call either BL or Minehead and actually speak to someone?

Or would that spoil an opportunity to whinge about the PLC/Social Media?

I don't do FB, but do have a Twitter account. Alerts are a complete PITA and I switch them off on the accounts I follow because otherwise I'd always be pinging; I can't believe I'd be different with FB

An interesting and informative update re CHRF funding has been posted on wsr.org today. Not quite an exact answer to the question you posed - but also not unconnected,

And a good example of the sort of communication that should be out there. Long may it flourish.

I spoke to the disposal officer. He thought it was the remains of an old fire extinguisher. But better safe than sorry.

There's been surprisingly little interest in non-incendiary devices in the area in recent years ...

I get no noise. I unfollow people who post a lot of junk I don't want to see, so most of the stuff I get is vaguely of interest. All I get is an unread notifications counter on the icon (at this moment 3 updates from those I follow, one as it happens is a railway update on Christmas running). It's not intrusive or an imposition if you set it up correctly.

The WSR should take note of the GWSR blogs if they want our support or MONEY!!

It also makes the entirely valid point that a significant chunk of the funding is for the wages of the permanent staff undertaking these projects whose jobs would presumably have been at risk were there no other income, with the railway closed, to fund their work.

Have I missed something, but I have yet to see any mention of the WSR PLC AGM on 21st November?!

I've had part of the Zoom reported to me.

    Any links and comments?

Its quite simple - everyone who zoomed in or attended in any other way has had to sign a NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) so that nobody on NP will ever know what was said.

Sorry, could not resist - only meant in jest.
