Interesting loco- at first glance you might think it’s another variation on the quarry-Hunslet theme, then you start noticing the essentially MW-ness of it. I look forward to it working.

 

Good news. Any idea what happened to the quarrymans coaches that were presumably with Jubilee at Penrhyn?

 

Why didn't the NGRM want it back?

 

Furthermore, they have stated an ambition to have Jubilee 1897 restored to steam by 2023.

 

Excellent! I’m sure Peter Rampton would have been delighted. Not a flippant comment, he was a good friend for 30+ years.

 

It was only on loan to them from Welsh Slate, and it was moved out to make room for another loco.

Great news. With their new(ish) facilities up and running, the VoR have developed a fine and well deserved reputation for getting the job done over recent years.

The first line of the article is:

So it is; clearly I didn't read that bit properly!

 

So the word 'sold' in the artical is meaningless?

 

Good to see Jubilee 1897 is been rebuilt. I remember her in the shed at Felin Fawr in 2017. The team there were so excited at the prospect of rebuilding the engine and returning it to service on the PQR.
Sadly not be so. With the proposal to create a World Heritage Site in the Quarry’s of North Wales what should have been.
