I think Stanley Unwin has been resurrected and is posting on this thread.

Getting back to some reality, Washford is a private siding but the GF still controlled by the operating company. What they do beyond the catch points is up to them and their own agreed operating instructions.

SDRT members, of which I am one of, will have to wait for the next "Pines Express" or other announcements via email etc.

Investigation? Doesnt take much investigation to confirm it is still there and locked out of use.

I don't see why they would need to unlock it. Not as if they have a crane mounted on the platform and a road trailer blocking the A39 to swing stock off the railway.

On google there is a small lane round the back so the farmer might help get them off. If not they will have no choice and tow them to a loading zone

The ground frame being out of use will not prevent items being removed from Washford Yard. Here is a photo on wsr.org of the SR PMV leaving last November.

Whilst not wanting to give COT any legitimate reason to continue this longer than necessary, is the ground frame interlocked with the crossing gate, which therefore gives his fascination about it credence?

So what is the currant situation? As I understand it, the new lease has not yet been finalised, but the period of eviction has been extended So that the trust can move some of its assets out, Have i got this right?
If there is a new lease for the yard being worked on, then why is it necessary to extend the notice, surely you just do not enforce it, Its as if some on the plc still actually prefer the trust to vacate and leave the railway, and its being used to pressure the trust to leave the railway completely.

Alresford? Surprised in some ways to see it there as it’s a bit small for Mid Hants use. However it’s out of ticket isn’t it, so presumably just there for storage for now.

Alresford's station pilot , ;) once its been rebuilt as an 0-40-040t
Actually i was joking , its come as much a shock to me as anyone else, but, I'm guessing it might be an indication of where the trust see's it's future now,
All joking apart, how much use has Kilmersdon seen in its last ten year ticket ? if its only been yard work and shunting, it might not need much doing, to get a new ticket, and the trust i believe already has some money towards its overhaul, if its not had to spend it on transporting part of its collection from Washford to Alresford

Paint it bright green and put a number 6 on the sides. Then it’s perfect for the Mid Hants!

Well if the S&D Trust are setting themselves up at the Mid Hants, and wanted to perform the overhaul of their loco themselves, it makes sense for them to move it to their new home to undertake it. It's possible that Kilmersden's future could be as a little shunter that masquerades as a small green saddle tank with the number 6 at Thomas events, or it could be restored and loaned out to lines like Helston for whom it is an appropriate steam loco, thus brining in a big more income for the trust. Whatever the Trust deems to be the best course of action.

Hollycombe Steam Museum has a short length of standard gauge track that would love to see something on it one day. Not that the track layout is particularly visitor friendly or safe.

That line hasn't been used for such a long time, that i doubt it will be usable, without a lot of work on it, but at least its not to far from Ropley One thing you can almost guarantee though will be once Kilmersden is overhauled, most likily on an S&D Trust members day, will be the Engine ,with the trust's coach and a brake van possibly a water tank, to top it up from, at Medstead, doing a trip along the full line.
