Seriously guys, how many times does it need to be said that this kind of jab-making is unnecessary and doesn't make you look good? As somebody who has experienced this kind of teasing for many years in his childhood, I can tell you it's not fun at all and can have seriously detrimental effects on one's mental health. So stop it and give the guy a break.

Just an observation, sorry for going off thread, but, isnt the bufferbeam number normally on the right hand side as you face the loco, I can't recall seeing an engine with it on the left like that

I take it the other way. COT is a wind up merchant and very good at it. I was bullied, so do not patronise me.

And you have proof of this? It doesn't seem like a wind up to me. You were bullied. You know how it feels. So I don't understand how you are willing to inflict the same on others.

CoT Fan is definitely a little bit... other... but so am I, and I was damn nearly killed for it at school. COTF has also shown a ready sense of humour and I think sometimes says things that he knows are provocative. I've liked a few of his comments.

And to be fair, one persons relentless enthusiasm for extensions here and there is easily matched by others on a wide range of other subjects. Just that the others express themselves in a more articulate manner.

I prefer not to ignore anyone, as posts from people I disagree with still spark valuable debate and, in this case, a lot of general merriment. Heck, I'd have missed out on a lot if I'd blocked the WSR PLC apologists on here, even though I disagree profoundly with pretty much everything they say.

I put COT's constant references to Kilmersdon in the same category as another poster's obsession with WIBN.

Talking about Kilmersdon, i read on facebook that she is having an inspection, at Ropley, and a boiler wash out, Is the boiler wash out to aid the inspection of the boiler, so the boilersmith can gauge what condition its in ? ,
As its already done Ten years i'm assuming an extension won't be possible to get any more use out of it, unless ,very unlikely though it might be, if the boiler is found to be in good condition, needing only a re tube, and mechanically, the engine is fine, is it worth fitting a new set of tubes, and either have her do short demonstration freights, or the S&D coach and a brake van shuttles, on a few days during the season ?

I've seen it mentioned a few times now on this thread and the WSR thread, but where did the idea occur that Kilmersdon's 10 year ticket is now over?

It's on the official SDRT website.

    From https://www.sdrt.org/Stock-List.Html

Built in 1929 with works number 1788, Kilmersdon was the last steam locomotive to work the Somerset Coalfield. The locomotive was on a long hire to the Helston Railway in Cornwall - as pictured - from 2018 to January 2020 and arrangements are currently being made for overhaul.

Thank you. However most locos with a few years left on there ticket, the owners will be 'making arrangements for overhaul'.
