It's the same just in case the steam needed to be moved on the second path so is left the same, might also be something to do with the WHL Timetable

It's a long journey and easier to use the same path for whatever the motive power and it has always been the case, it works so why change it. As Steamie boxes says it will be all to do with finding a reasonable path on the Highland section,

The timings are cut and paste from the original schedules that were due to run at the end of March, which had the 5's on Monday and K1 on Wednesday.

And are probably the timings that have been used for many years with just minor tweaks to allow for service train timetable alterations, if any.

The only major change to the ECS moves I can think of was last year when 62005 & 45407 overnighted in Carlisle

Yes you are right but I think that they left Carlisle on the same schedule at around 7.30am

If I remember correctly the pair moved to Carlisle to avoid engineering works planned for the section before Carlisle on the Sunday :)Could be wrong but that was info I was given at the time.

I assume as UoSA is not going main line again it needs moving from ELR up to Carnforth or Scotland* and tagging it on an existing move will save some cash.

*What's happening to it, is it planned to go in the museum or elsewhere?

No. 45407 'The Lancashire Fusilier' nearing Carnforth before working north for 'The Jacobite' next week, Mick Rawling driving and Calum Titley on the shovel

Not a fan of tender first running but with the opportunity to get back into the swing of things and a lovely show of Daffodils No. 45212 works over the
Lancaster Canal at Capernwray with Mick Kelly driving and Matt Durkan on the shovel

The week commencing March 29th K1 No. 62005 spent 5 days working along the Esk Valley line between Grosmont to Battersby and return as part of crew refresher/Route learning for the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. The K1 then worked Monday 5th to Wednesday 7th between Grosmont to Whitby and return for the same reason. A few pictures from these days are below:
