I wonder which GWR Loco they have in mind to launch the new canopy?

Shame, I know they were trying to offload it. Guessing it was akin to a bag of spanners?

More good news from South Oxfordshire as Mark Hopwood, the GWR managing director, has agreed to become our President!

"I am delighted to have been asked to take up the post of President of the Railway from January 2021. I hope I can support your Chairman and Committee with strategic direction and support in discussions with external bodies.

The recent erection of the Maidenhead station canopy brings back happy memories for me of my time spent living in Marlow from a toddler through to my mid 20s when Maidenhead was my local mainline station and, for a period of time, I was Station Manager at Slough with responsibility for this station."

Mark is a well known fan of Class 50's - now an obvious target for a future diesel gala! Read more about Mark's appointment and his railway career in the next issue of our magazine 'The Bunk', which should be sent to members next month. Nothing wrong with your posting. I was merely pointing out that the information is unavailable to anyone who has no Facebook account, which is a pity.

Again, I think this must be a browser/OS issue or something, I can read it perfectly fine without being logged into Facebook.

I also get the "You must log in to continue." message.
Do you have a FB account and it remembers you whenever you connect to their website?

Yes, but I'm most definitely not logged in when I do so, because I initially get hassled to log in or sign up, but dismiss the message, and I can clearly see that I'm not logged in even after that when viewing the content.

Interesting. . . I don't have a FB account and I don't see any way to dismiss the message, it's either login or create a new account.
(Apologies for continuing an off topic thread).

I had the same problem using the link, however, using a search on Chrome with the terms Facebook Cholsey and Wallingford brought up the page and you can click through the Facebook log in message using "not now" at the base of the message. This approach seems to work with many Facebook sites.

I can Log In and do not have a F/Book account. Maybe you missed the NOT NOW feature which is in small print

The NOT NOW is one of the options from their facebook front page. The above link gives "You must log in to continue" with no NOT NOW option.
