The comment was Irresistable. Don't think I was being Vindictive in any way; I just thought I had to Express my thoughts.
(Struggling to work out how I could get Bihar and Orissa into the post, though.):)

Howe did it get to this state? And would it need the labours of Hercules to improve?

While preservation groups are now allowed back when will Peak Rail actual start running services again? Surely they should be making the most of the opportunity to start getting people back in and raising some much needed funds?

Pway were out and about this morn by with the works train but not as early as dave and the platform gang and not as early as me

I actually planned to do some painting of darley box today, the cream, but upon leaving home this morning being damp And snowy I left the paint behind, lo and behold ten minutes later it’s like summer again, so in the end managed to repaint darley box maroon and the grey window boards, also cleaned up the gate locks, repaired the box diagram frame and replaced it’s mount bar (still to trim down) , nipped into church lane and fettled the motor
Point and also did some more soil removal at Rowsley box to let in more blockwork too around the door which will be levelled and sanded next time.

    So yes busy day

9404 carriage work continues with the end roof work and John’s been busy with some supply cables. 03781DFB-09B7-429D-9939-8792F0FDB3F4.jpeg EA91977E-C192-492A-B913-C43054E9E02F.jpeg

Other bits, signallling side everything between darley and church lane boxes has been oiled and greased and the motor points maintained, the scrub at the rear of church lane has been cleared and planted to improve our neighbours area, the path from Rowsley box using the recovered blocks is progressing further every week, the bit outside the box has been sat and will be sanded next and the blocks towards the road widened out, Rodney has kindly cleared the concrete slab that was in the way of it with his power jackhammer and that’s helped out a lot, the foliage is also been tidied up in the area of the box, apart from that battery maintenance was also done, and between Rodney andrew and myself we also dug up and relaid the kerb edge blocks on the access road so they’re all level now

I didn’t get much time to chat with folks, though got to see some of the shed gang who are carrying on with Loco work and bens dad whose car must be much like mine now (in need of new seat covers)

And as typical the day you’d like to do some painting it rains , yet either side is sunny and warm

John had been slowly digging up and pulling back the old power cable to the old bandstand area to be terminated near the box and andrew is back down today to do some work on church lanes wicket gate

So the weeks thanks to Rodney (NG), Rodney P, Andrew and John for all the weeks work.

Can anyone at Peak Rail confirm when services might return? The web site is singularly unhelpful!

It would be good if the railways got together and could swap there engines so that this railway can have a type that is better and the great western one can go to a great western railway. Peak railway is too far up to really look ok with western engine

A fine collection of diesel locos are based at PR (not used to anything like their full potential though). The Plc has never built up a steam loco fleet. Money has been spent on hiring in individual engines, sometimes successfully and sometimes ending acrimoniously. GWR locos (or locos of any other company!) will provide some welcome variety and keep the majority of visitors happy.

It remains to be seen who will benefit the most from the use of Waterman Railway Heritage Trust loco(s). The Trust has assisted the Plc at times and the Trust occupies Rowsley workshop. However the Plc has never outlined the arrangements to shareholders or explained any rights or influence that Dr Waterman has over the railway as President.
