Yes that is most likely it would seem Margate is the destination, but we can wish!!! Even if that isn’t the plan the question of overhaul makes me think the SVR quite possibly wouldn’t be it’s future base but unsure where else it would go.

Without getting into an 'overhaul queue' sub-thread, recent public comments suggest 4930 and/or 13268 will be in until 2022. 82045 ('best guess late 2023') and 4150 are already there, with Dunrobin ('2-3 years') to finish off. The outgoing head of engineering suggested the Railway aims to have a maximum of 2 locos in at once, which would imply a few projects to clear before things come in.

    (My interpretation)

We like Halls on the GWSR! :) (No inside knowledge before tongues start wagging, just saying it would be nice!)

Re 6960, when I was at their Spring Steam Up I spoke to the crew on the Hall and they were full of praise for its condition and its performance, even as it nears the end of its ticket.

There’s nothing wrong with a little day dreaming, look how much of the Hosking empire and staff have connections with the SVR, a trip to Kent or an overhaul in Shropshire? Neither would be a surprise to me.

Well it was the GWSRs first long term resident working ex BR engine instead of hiring in for a season or two so does have a connection to the railway. In fact until it moved to Minehead after leaving the SVR it still wasn’t far away and I have many happy memories of its time at Toddington as well as the SVR.

ISTR the Collett Mogul was scheduled to go in when space became available. Nice though Halls are, I'd certainly like to see that back.

And with 7812 then 7802 returning there is little pressure to start new overhauls just yet.

Not yet, although I believe 1501 and 2857 are out of ticket in 2022 and the Pig in 2023.

Oh I can assure you it's still been labelled as big chufferitis regardless of its authenticity!

A little later then planned, but I hope you enjoy watching this, as much as I enjoyed making it. So good to be back! :)

Another cracker Sam. That could just as easily be a tv commercial for the railway. Much like a your video about volunteers should be an advert as well.
