If you look at pictures on an earlier post it would appear that provision has been made. no doubt someone 'in the know' will give a more knowledgeable answer.

provision has been made from the signal cabin to the edge of the platform, this was done when the cabin was put in place, nothing else has been put in place just yet,the platform surface is made up of road plannings so will be easy to tamp back down when cable work has been done

At the moment it looks like a great place to sit down with a good(railway) book and a beverage!

Does anyone know what percentage of the trackbed from Bratton to Chelfham is currently owned by an L&B related body - the actual amounts are difficult to estimate from the online maps...

    Hi Martin
On the Exmoor Associates website in the Trackbed section, there is a "view the route" which you can click on and there is map and a panel which gives all the sections of trackbed lengths owned by the EA (2.12miles) and L&B (4.35 miles) by my reckoning.

when we put our section of track down at Snapper the top of the rail was level with the top of the platform edge with sleeper spacing as per original L&BR,i believe the rail is slightly lower at Woody Bay to reduce the 'step up'to the running boards of the carriages but i might be incorrect with that,as for Chelfham i wouldn't like to say as i understand there is much more to do before thinking about trackwork

Just received the lastest Trust magazine, and really great news that "The Halt" at Parracombe has been purchased! This means that the Trust, EA, or supporters of, now own all of the original L&BR stations (excepting Blackmoor). What is apparent is that there is much work going on unreported in the public domain, for various reasons. Detailed design work for bridge reconstruction, soil sampling (so far, all good news), a further section of trackbed purchased towards Rowley Cross, but one phrase in the newsletter caught my attention, which was "the length of line we need in order to unlock the TWAO application".
Could anyone in the know elaborate on this statement, as it would seem to be quite gemaine?

Received mine as well this morning. It is great news. I am sure there is a lot going on in the background which quite rightly is not in the public domain. We just need to be patient.

Is that the Bungalow? If so I have a picture. Not sure if I can post that here?
It just goes to show what you can achieve with patience, which is why I joined EA.

I think it is, complete with the SR concrete shelter in the garden. I've not received my magazine yet, so I don't know who has purchased it, but wonderful news irrespective.

Is this the section that was owned by the lady not so keen on the railway? Don't want to start anything, just not completely familiar with it all. Great news regardless, another piece of the puzzle.

Yes, it is the bungalow, which is currently tennanted. Tennants will remain for the foreseeable future, until the site is needed. The Trust, rather than EA, made the purchase, thanks to a generous bequest. (Incidentally, there's a £150k shortfall to be made up, if you feel like making a donation;).
Apparently the purchase also included a short section of trackbed, in the shape of a deep infilled cutting at Rowley Cross, which presumably can now be included in the exploratory soil sampling work, in order to discharge a condition in the planning consents (lack of contaminated materials, and risk to watercourses).
