I think they meant "passed", but as it turned out "past" does make some sense, sadly.

    from another site.

    don't shoot the messenger!!!

'the contract between DBC and VT expired on 2nd August - presumably for TOC support, so no rescue loco,
Apparently there’s no Operating Company taking ownership of the train! NR alleging it shouldn’t be on their metals in that case'.
not sure if this is wibble

Stopped from 08:12 to 10:20. Good fortune is certainly not on the side of Vintage Trains. <BJ>

VT surely are a TOC in their own right . I do get the point about rescue support which does make sense

Lost path or not it managed to recover one hour of the lateness by the time it reached Skegness.

From what I can gather reading various other forums, it seems VT were using DBC for control to liaise with Network Rail. It's the same as Caledonian Sleepers using GBRf control; they're not a big enough TOC to have their own control. But the VT/DBC contract expired on Monday, and the signaller at Nuneaton queried why there was no consist listed for the charter. Hence the long delay while ROG were contacted and agreed to take over.

From my experience that’s four and a half hours too long. :)

Where impact, if any, does this situation have on a Sunday’s SE’s?

    Good news.
I asked the question because I, along with other potential passengers on next Sunday’s SE, did not know if the arrangement with ROG to provide ‘Control Services’ for yesterday’s train was a one off or a long term agreement.

I understand that it will be a long term arrangement from industry sources.

    Cheers, Neil
