The boiler for DSB no. 656 returned from LMS at Loughborough yesterday and was placed back in the frames. Shouldn't be too long before it returns to traffic.

I see that 4144 is no longer listed for Didcot's steam & diesel weekend at the end of September. Should I assume it is staying Nene Valley a bit longer or is it going elsewhere?

 

Staying at Nene a bit longer. Roster shows it running throughout September.

 

Yes it is, I believe the hire agreement has now been extended to the end of September

A quick visit after hauling the railtour to York on Saturday I assume?

 

Leaves the tour at Peterborough on the return. Stabling at the NVR before departing to Tyseley on Monday.
