French "Pacific" on the GCR

Tender and trailing truck axleboxes were off commonwealth bogies and that’s about all I can think of.
I do my own stunts and always carry a parachute with me so I’m still here

 

What about the wheelsets?

It is believed that Riley's were involved, as one of their vans was present at the GCR during running in trials last year.

 

The builder of the loco is on another forum elsewhere, and has stated he had to sign a NDA

 

NDAs are very common in the movie industry.... I did see that the loco was shipped to Norway after testing at the GCR - never say any reports of how it was used over there... did it run on NSB rails?

 

According to the builder, yes and the paperwork to do so was horrific

 

Just as a matter of interest, but what was actually 'French' about this loco?

 

I think it just "looked" more French than any other Continental type.......and more Brit than anything else!

 

Doesn't look very 'French' to me!

 

You'll need to go to the film next year to see how it looks when they've done all the post-production trickery on it!

I think someone misread the acceptance terms. . . it was supposed to be non-destructive testing. . . .

Just goes to prove that steam locomotives don't fly very well. At least, the AAIB can't describe it as an engine failure.
