I understand it was taken out of service early for a quick overhaul so it could be back up at Fort Bill next year

No as there is no combined Brake valve or air piping. The lock doesn’t need the be airbraked, it just needs an air pump and controls for working airbraked stock.
Clan Line isn’t airbraked, it’s all three when it’s working; steam brake on the loco, vacuum tender and air for the train.

According to the latest issue of NELPG News, "the aim is to complete the overhaul for the start of the 2023 season".

I don't think so. At the time of that statement they had not done a detailed examination.

I believe Network Rail banned the K1 because of the state of the tyres. That is why it left Fort William in the middle of the Jacobite season. It was given a choice of a going to the NYMR or Carnforth, and went to Carnforth. AN

Does anyone know if next weekends train is planned to run steam hauled? Still advertised on the website as such.

Railway Herald seems to be pretty in touch rather than Rail Advent as I wouldn’t be surprised if they said Thomas was on the tour :)

Looked like a pure stinker. The 47 was putting almost as much exhaust out as the A1 coming up Shap by the looks of it.
