Video from Hildenborough yesterday, a few feet to the left of 'The Modster'! Juggling two cameras, I found myself having to zoom out later than I would have liked.

Ooops - also a crew error for accepting the route. Could have been a lot worse somewhere else, I imagine.

If the driver sees a signal sending him down the wrong route there’s little he can do apart from making an emergency brake application

I thought the Q path via Salisbury was the usual way back. This is shown as a path just for October 6. What is the benefit of leaving the Hounslow Loop at Kew Junction and going via Willesden?

On its previous Belmond from Bristol in May, it was about half an hour down at Reading and stuck behind a local from there, so was unable to make up time. But going via Willesden made it back on time on arrival at Victoria.

The Belmond Pullman worked by 35028 on 19th May 2021 was planned to be routed via Ascot, Kew East Jn and WLL. Most of the delay was due to problems in Bristol earlier in the day and loss of path from Bristol towards Bath and Chippenham, then being regulated for on time services. (That is a key part of train regulation instructions - on time trains get priority. I don't want to re-start the Delay Attribution thread!)
Certainly there are pathing problems via the GWML with the Transport for London stopping services, so the Windsor Lines are presumably seen by DB Cargo as a better option even with the SWR suburban service and ECS after the evening peak. Running via South West Sidings and WLL minimises conflicting movements with the TfL services to and from Clapham. Much of the time recovery was due to not needing planned pathing time and the pathing stop at Willesden SWS.

    Cheers, Neil

Not only that, but 35028 is due to pass Didcot Parkway at 1046 on the main, and the LSL tour is passing Didcot north Jc at 1051. That would make quite a spectacle if 35028 was a few minutes down...

Clan Line has departed from London Victoria on time. It's heading for Bath and Bristol. No diesel. :)

Clan Line late, perish the thought! It was the other way round, the Scot was supposed to pass us at The Challow water stop but being late was looped behind us to allow two to pass.

Passing through a sunny Feltham this morning, surprised a few commuters!

Here's my footage of Clan Line accelerating away from Bath bound for Bristol at Saltford. The video also features 46100 Royal Scot with the Great Western Envoy. I hope you enjoy the video.

Clan Line 84 late departing BTM, at least it means I get to see it past Tilehurst now.

Clever DBC in getting Network Rail to find a Route 1 path back to Victoria from Feltham Junction rather than going via Willesden. Regained a good 45 minutes.

Sorry to ask but does anyone know what the problem was yesterday? To date I've heard that (1) Clan Line was suffering from a leaking pipe and (2) that a person was taken ill.

Neither is true, just operational difficulties at Bristol. From nearly two hours down NR did a reroute via Richmond and we got back 55 min late.
I’m not sure if it was explained on the train but talking to a few passengers at Victoria there were no complaints at all about the late running, they just said what a great time they had
