Just booked my ticket today. I hope 80097 does make it, last time I was near her it was in the shed with the boiler off so I'd like a chance for a trip behind.

 

if you go most wekends 80097 is usually in action, its not a rare beast to see unlike say 752

 

Since Union of South Africa seems to have gone out with a bang and whimper I'd say '97 is probably going to get called up to the plate. We're tempted by a trip down for the Saturday. I've got other business in Manchester I can get done around it.

 

Oh, I know. Just relatively rare I get the opportunity so two birds, one stone, all that.

 

Dagnabbit, my kid has a birthday party on Saturday or I;d have tried to make it up there for a pint.

 

We are currently looking at making a long weekend of a Mancunian trip and if 752 is out Sat/ Sun then we might come down the Saturday rather than the Friday which saves a chunk on hotels. Pretty sure they do pints on a Sunday even in such enlightened times.

 

ELR website says 41312 is stepping in and 60009 will be on static display. I'm OK with that.

 

Plus Dinmore Manor and Jinty 47298.

 

Sounds good to me.

 

Plenty of noise to be had then (more din, or is that Dinmore?)

 

Can tickets for the E.L.R. steam gala be purchased on the day or do the tickets have to be booked on E.L.R. official website?

80097 now running Friday and Saturday only if the gala. Webpage shows 5643 only working on Friday.

 

Friday - and I can see they have indeed added 80097. Hurrah.
