    The NNR ought to be called the rainbow railway
    Y14 GER Blue
    B12 LNER Apple Green
    N2 GNR Green
    Class 20 LT Burgundy

    apart from the BR liveries and of course Wissington and Ring Haw in their respective greens

    there is the potential for 53809 to go S&DJR Blue too at some time in the future, should the owners wish it

    It makes sense for the locos like the Y14 and N2 to be in pre grouping liveries because there are so few examples of working locos from these lines, whereas something like BR black, lots of locomotives can be painted like this. Not sure about LT class 20 as the LT has nothing to do with North Norfolk.

    It is hired in for the other end of the Cromer dining trains (as it is mainline registered)

    Regardless of why its in Norfolk (and it is for very practical reasons), personally I think it looks very good in Metropolitan maroon.

    A start has finally been made to dispose of the remains of 45015 the Battlefield Line. Seems the line had taken ownership of the 135 tonne bufferstop, possibly in lieu of unpaid storage fees, and have now finally been able to get it removed.

    Kindest thing for it. Should have been done when it was withdrawn for repairs the eventual owner couldn't undertake before it was picked over. Apparently the asbestos situation negates any scrap value.

    We had the asbestos removed from 46010 around ten years ago, it was only present around the boiler (I believe that all ‘Peaks’ were similarly afflicted) at a cost of approx £1000.

    I shudder to think. The highest profile asbestosectomy of recent years has to be IMR Nos.5,6,9,14 and 16. I've seen no mention of cost, but if anyone of our merry band is likely to know, I'd imagine it'd be either @Mike Buttell or @marshall5

    The vehicle that I want to see restored is GWR 70' Dreadnought 3299. Preserved in 1964 and since stored at Didcot for around 50 years. A story I was told in the mid '70s was about a visit of the then head of the National Railway Museum to Didcot. He was asked if he could have one vehicle from Didcot which would it be. He was expected to say a Castle, Hall or some such. But no, it was 3299, stored out of sight but a radical and presentient carriage. It is a 70', corridor compartment vehicle with only external access to the corridor, access to the compartments was from the corridor only; ring any bells right through to the Mk Is? The GWR Dreadnoughts were the forerunners of coaching stock for the next 50 years and indeed well before their time.
