Any idea whats happening from January onwards?

The East Somerset & Swanage Railways have 2022 timetables or at least when they will be open. Other lines are not showing 2022 yet but the WSR has the worst of all worlds with a 2022 calendar with nothing on it.

I wondered for a moment if this was actually a 'fair cop' however a short perusal of a few other random heritgae railway's websites suggest that the WSR is actually in the majority with this situation. Infact, some of the calenders I've just seen are worse in that they don't support mobile devices or they alternate between March 2022 (where there are no dates) and Nov 2021 as you scroll and make you question if you're missing some critical details.

It's clear from the WSR site that 2022 dates and times have not been punished and are TBC, as with a lot of others.

I'm not really sure what your actual point is here ?

Nice try, but no cigar ...

No-one has any idea what's happening from January onwards, least of all the people who are in charge of the country, so it's pretty pointless making any plans. At least the WSR has stuck its neck out with its Spring Gala.

As someone who depends upon each railways own website when compiling my own Events Diary, I get to see them all, and they are certainly a very mixed bag with regard to user experience. Some are a nice simple list :). Others are quite complicated and presumably designed to drive ticket sales for various events, but end up making it difficult to view a full listing o_O. Then there are the confusing ones that don't seem to have any real logic or design behind them . And then there are the lazy ones who just publish a picture of their leaflet.
Timing also vary widely too, early birds publish in December, while others are as late as April (Which must surely impact their Easter visitor numbers).
PS. Apologies for going off on one (and this should probably be in the Events forum, but since it was raised here. . . )

    Simple curiosity.

I haven't travelled on the line since December 2019 so rather fancy another trip

I don’t see the big deal, someone wanted some info and couldn’t get it. What’s wrong with that?

Don’t go there to look at the museum as it has gone and kilmesdon has left as well. The king edwards might be running though which will be different for the year and the level crossing now has Bars across the road to look at. Also they will be running normally again as this year they have been using double Enders due to not having any sidings to run around on. But this will be less engines to see is the downs side. Hopefully will be some other interesting things so go and visit

There are still excellent museums at Blue Anchor and Bishops Lydeard although they don’t open every day.

The King running soon? I don't think so unless it is up and down in the sidings at Minehead. Too heavy! Once it is in working order it will disappear back to the main line.

According to the plc website there still is when you click on 'museums', they forgot to update that section

Told everyone they are going to hold one, with the risk that they might have to cancel everything at short notice, when the omega variant, or whatever the COVID de jour is called, starts putting the wind up the politicians.

Now that is an interesting point, is there anyone amongst our ranks that would actually isolate to attend a gala? It’s a bit different to being paid £200k to isolate before eating cows bottom in a castle for a fortnight!!!

Sounds like a good deal. I normally pay £5.79 for that in Wetherspoons.
