Sorry, I don't understand. The Wensleydale Railway's appeal states that they have the opportunity to acquire two MK1 coaches, recently refurbished in operational condition and ready to go straight into service.. what do you mean by one and a half?

I believe he is referencing the 2 that have joined 4920 on this new Harry Potter venture in Tokyo

Sorry!!! For some reason I thought this post was in the 4920 thread so was indeed talking about the two (well one and a half) that have gone to Japan. Must of been half asleep - apologies!!!

Ah makes sense! Sorry about that! When you said 1 and a half I was reminded of the setup at WB Studios in Watford so that makes sense!

So do we know why WC are so willing to flog two freshly overhauled MK1s? Or is it related to David Smith's relationship with the Wensleydale Railway thru the Aysgarth Station site?

You won’t get a straight answer to that question from here! There’ll be several theories put about and Mr Shuttleworth will neither confirm nor deny :)

Having had a quick look around the internet, are they are they WCR owned or just on site for storage?

According to the appeal one of the coaches is a BSOT with disabled access. According to the VCT register only the one that matches the description is 9370 - http://www.cs.rhrp.org.uk/se/CarriageInfo.asp?Ref=1544

Doesn't Mr Smith have very close links with this railway, which would explain the link up.

Maybe we’ll have proof when 4920 shows up for its running in there? ;)

Sold by the Embsay & BA Steam Railway, moved to Carnforth in 2020. So it looks like they've literally bought 'em, refurbed 'em and are now selling?

Interesting RH wheelset in that photo, it appears that the wheels have 4 holes instead of the more usual 3.

MK1 No.1949 moved from the Lincolnshire Wold Railway to RSS Yard in Wishaw during the week. It will shortly move from there to Cranmore Traincare for contract repairs.

I am told that the two EMU coaches (4CEP No. 70235 & 4BEP 69013) are due to leave Epping Ongar (if they haven't already,) destination unknown.

Broad gauge six-wheel composite W9962W left Shildon earlier this week, heading south west, anyone know where it's gone please?

Class 411 brake composite coach BR 70235 was sold and left North Weald for Carnforth last week (or possibly the week before.) I believe it has been taken for spares.
Class 411 Buffet coach 69013 is also due to leave at some point soon, destination not yet confirmed.
