    In the 1970's most if not all the coal for Didcot power station came from the Midlands or I think the North East. They were nearly all out and home turns for Saltley, Bescot or Toton crews and local WR crews were barely involved. Unless there was a possession via Swindon, I can't see why coal traffic from South Wales would be routed via the B&H.
    I'm not certain when coal imports started at Avonmouth or Portbury. The earliest picture of an mgr train on the B&H was 1986 taken by David Canning.
