Do we suppose that the times this Saturday will be the same as planned for 19th Feb?

Plenty of emails received from the RTC to publicise date change and last minute availability of a substantial number of seats in Standard alone. But it's £165!

Sorry but that price is a bridge too far and whilst Scotsman should be ok on its own, as Worcester is a destination that works ok, we don't actually know.

Extremely rare to see a diesel on a Worcester Train. Easy to manage the loco turn there. Much as we love the returns over Sapperton, on principle we won't pay that much of a premium to travel behind 60103. Amazed so many punters many. Presumably it's costing Mr Riley a lot of money to keep the locomotive operational so he needs to make a premium hire charge. Hoped it might come out as 4472 after this year's overhaul but apparently not. Can understand why as NR would only allow it a Class 6 Classification without the double chimney set up. With a reduced load the fares would be higher still. Hope a timer or two is on this one so we can get a bit of performance information on the site.

Surely it's not up to Ian Riley to set the hire charges, the loco does not belong to him so the owners would be the ones to ask the higher fee for its use.

Simply what the market will bear. Probably 4472 and 4498 are the two locos currently which would command a premium.

Well in this case someone has got it wrong. Leaving Paddington at silly o'clock will be an issue but that can't account solely for over 100 seats in Standard still available, it seems.

I thought £30 was the normal FS premium. £50 seems a bit OTT I agree.

Doesn’t IR pay a fixed amount to the NRM for the loco which he is then responsible for hiring out and maintaining ,so he does set the hire fee ?

Why would SNG command a premium? Most railtour passengers are not died in the wool enthusiasts, what would make them pay more?

There was no premium the last time in service. The only other loco to command a premium is Clan Line.

Riley's have reduced the hire cost of this particular tour to the Railtour company. This re-run has had many cancellations and we are trying to help the Railtour company.

You may very well be right. But maybe if 4498 came out as 4468, that might make a difference? If Jubilees can do it............

Maybe for the first 2 or 3 tours, but not once she's back in regular service. I suspect FS won't be able to command quite the same premium as it did when it first returned to service. The name and brand-recognition is still worth something but the rarity value has faded.

That is generous given that the complications have not really been anything to do with the loco custodian. Credit to @Riley.
