Not sure if this is the convoy or just one loco. Would a convoy be classed as a LE move i.e. and 0Z identity?

I also see that although on the SR website it is a Diesel Gala with a beer festival, the roadside advertising seems to imply a Beer Festival with a diesel gala. Based on a couple I have seen since we moved here perhaps the roadside signs are more accurate!

The three stage move, by West Coast Railway, to Swanage would seem to be:
Monday 2nd May 2022 - 31128 light engine (0Z31) NYMR Grosmont (Dep 07:45) to Worksop Down Yard (Arr 05:04): https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/servic ... 2/detailed and stables overnight.
Tuesday 3rd May 2022, 31128 couples to 37703 then travels as 0Z37 from Worksop (Dep 08:04) to Midland Railway Centre, Butterley (Arr 09:27): https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/servic ... 3/detailed
On leaving Butterley later that morning 31128 is scheduled to haul 37703, 44004 and 46045 [order may change on the day of course] working 0Z45 Butterley MRC (Dep 10:06) to Swanage (Arr 19:20): https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/servic ... 3/detailed

Convoy 0Z45 arrived at Swanage around 12 minutes late [31128 "Charybdis" hauling 37703; D4 "Great Gable" and D182].
Locos secured overnight ready for some shunting tomorrow which will enable 37703 to become available for preview day services on Thursday.
Roll on good weather and lots of passengers during the Gala!

Looks like another light engine path has been created for GBRf so we'll have to see what turns up on Thursday afternoon: https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:H22419/2022-05-05/detailed

According to an entry on WNXX [on 2nd May]:
I can confirm that there will be NO air only locos attending the gala.
GBRf have been kind enough to offer us 73136 as a last minute addition to the line up.
As far as 50026 is concerned, as things stand snagging work continues and there is a minor electrical fault preventing full power from being attained, but hopefully all being well this fault will be rectified tomorrow. If not, it will still be used at the gala but just won’t be able to achieve full power.

I believe 73136 last appeared at the 2018 Diesel Gala. 73136 and 73133 hauled 66783 "The Flying Dustman" (in BIFFA livery) as the 2nd convoy of locos. I wonder if 73136 is still named "Mhairi" ?

Further clarification was added onto WNXX yesterday (3rd):
I can confirm there is no danger of the 73 pairing with the 25, 31, 37, 50, 44 or 46. The current plan (subject to confirmation) is that 73136 will make an appearance on 1 round trip per day in multi with 33111 on one of its diagrams.
Other than that, it will act as standby should anything else sit down.

    Hope this is of use/interest.

Anyone seen a list of beers? I’ve had a poke around the SR website & social media but no success?

My understanding is that the company that were going to run the beer festival pulled out late (no known reason why) and those organising it now are 2 SR volunteers. They hope to have a list so I understand

Killing time on the bridge yesterday afternoon whilst my wife had the stitches from her op taken out when the 50 was started up. I had read elsewhere they were working on some snags yesterday.
A long range shot for those who like these Class 50 things.

Slight change to that initial plan, on Friday and Sunday it will work in multi with 33111 for one trip, while on the Saturday it will work in multi with D6515 for one trip. This has been done as otherwise 33111 would not get a trip from Corfe to Swanage solo at any point on the Saturday.

Thanks for this update. I really need to know about the beer aspect because if it’s just something half hearted, I’ll drive to Swanage. Whereas if there’s a good beer offering then I will travel by public transport. I hope no one will think I’m carping or complaining when I say that it would be really helpful to have a list of beers asap!

I don't have a downloadable gradient profile to hand, but worthwhile uphill sections are Swanage to Harmans Cross, and Norden to Furzebrook (Up direction), and River Frome to Furzebrook, and Corfe Castle to Afflington Bridge (Down direction).

Many thanks! Looks very good so it’s train & bus for me rather than driving!
