While it was known by all that the BR Green livery was a temporary one (which lasted longer thanks to the overhaul being delayed by a year) to see it go straight back into Apple Green is a bit disappointing. I wonder how long it will keep it before going into something else. I would, as many other's have said, love it to be in Blue.

I like both Apple Green and BR Blue, the latter of which is the livery I've seen Tornado in the most (especially during 2013 where I saw Tornado quite a bit) so I'd be happy to see a return to it at somepoint.

Perhaps they should upset everyone by painting it in the colour of that superior railway that runs up the West Coast!

The best thing is that they are rotating* liveries so, whichever is your personal preference on either aesthetic or historical grounds, you should get to see it some time. My own preference is apple green for the A1 (but maroon for Stanier Pacifics, bronze green for Standard Pacifics and one or other version of blue for A4s).
*No, I don't mean one colour one side and a different colour the other side.

I think Tornado looks great in both BR green, Apple green or Blue:)

I liked her in blue but apple green is pretty good too:

Bear in mind that Apple Green is also the colour she is probably most recognisable to the general public in (thanks to such media exposures as Top Gear and Paddington 2) so an argument could be made, from a commercial perspective, that it's good to have her in Apple Green a bit more than other potential liveries

Yeah, I kind of think of Apple Green as her "natural" colours. I'm a big fan of Express Blue and I'd like to see it again, but Apple Green just feels right. This is obviously a very scientific method.

Looks as though she won't be heading south of the border this year, settling down as a regular on the Aberdeen run.

Well as I understand it a lot of effort was put in by West Coast to get permission for the loco movement back to the Ferryhill turntable together with agreement over propelling a vehicle. I would be surprised if all that effort was allowed to lapse.

We are just missing one locomotive, a fairly important part of running trains

Tornado’s tender springs were lined out earlier this week. The tender frames are already painted and varnished.
