Surely a test run will take place at some point next week. Or did the engine work enough on its movement to Crewe as it was in steam.

As noted by Sidmouth, the A4 Society has advised that this Saturday's tour will be the only one where the loco will operate in wartime black livery; after the tour it will be returned to Garter Blue livery

As long as it’s not green - too many green locos about at the moment.

i read it was going back into BR Express blue, as 60007, same as it previously carried prior to this overhaul

I don't care what colour it is, it's just great to see it back and doing what it was built to do. :)

If not black , i would love to see her in brunswick green as 60007, to replace the much lamented no.9. After all, that is the livery most of us trainspotters of the mid fifties/early 60s remember the class. I bet their are not many about who remember A4s in garter blue!

JMO Garter and or BR Blue are both good. I like this livery though too.

Not only the livery most spotters saw her in, but the livery that was by far the longest serving on Sir Nigel.

In round figures, she carried Garter Blue for a total of 7 years 9 months(before and after the war), Black (lined and unlined) for 5 years 1 month, BR Blue for 18 months and BR Green for 13 years 10 months.

So the BR Green livery was carried for only 6 months less than all the rest put together. (I still like the BR blue though).
