IIRC it was renamed Sutton as it was purchased by Sutton Borough Council for display in the Borough. Thankfully it found a better home.

The station at Tenterden has to be one of vanishingly few places in the UK where the 'Town' bit was actually a reasonably accurate suffix!

The Mayor of Tenterden makes a bit of a splash!

A bottle of Kentish Chapel Down sparkling goes west watched by the Mayor of Ashford and Lady McAlpine to ‘christen’ terrier 70 ‘Poplar’ this morning.

Nice of Lady MacAlpine to dye her hair the same colour as the Terrier.

Just out of interest, is it still planned to have loco eventually turned out with smokebox wingplates and dummy condensing pipes as originally planned, or has this been dropped or delayed due to the tight timescale getting the loco back in operation in time?

Thanks for the pictures Robin - the signal box looks almost "historic" apart from the shoulder bags ...and laptop on the desk...

Out of interest, any reason the loco has been turned to face downhill? Photo opportunities or operational reasons? Or that's just the way it came off the lorry?

Be staying this colour? I think engines like this will be getting the visitors and there members up because it’s so different to all the other railways a lot of the engines are always British railways

Out of curiosity has Knowle been fully repaired now having been withdrawn a few months ago for mechanical attention or does it still require future work? Thanks

It will be staying in this livery for 2-3 years and will then be repainted, as will Knowle.

Knowle has not been fully repaired. Work will be required, but there is no timescale for this yet. I think, at 144 years of age, she can be forgiven for having the odd issue!
