Outward timings suggest 45596 comes on at Humberstone Road, which is where it left last Saturday's train:
    https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:U53184/2022-06-11/detailed

Any word on its fitness following the problem discovered at the NVR?

The return timings show reversal at Gascoigne Wood, with 45596 presumably being dragged all the way from there to Southall ready for 'The Cotswold Venturer' on the 18th:
    https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:U53189/2022-06-11/detailed

It surprises me that they plan to use 45596 for the 23 minute journey to Gascoigne Wood. Surely a lot less hassle (and less strain on the boiler) to drag it in light steam all the way from York? Can't see that it would make that much difference to the passengers either, as it will only be pottering along on that dead flat section (60mph max too).

I understand the problem was fixed by Sunday evening. She has been out on a driver experience today with no issues. She's due to leave to leave the NVR on Friday to head back to Leicester

It's the opposite. 45596 isn't being turned at York, so it leaves with the diesel leading to Gascoigne, and then 45596 takes over for the run back to Ealing Broadway.

I see the return is now via Market Harborough rather than via Harringworth (with a Melton Mowbray set down) as stated on the RTC website until yesterday. It has now been updated.

I shall be surprised if it goes all the way from Humberstoe Road Leicester to London on one tank of water.Midland main line very busy now since the Corby -St Pancras trains started.

Ref the above. Didn't realise at the time it would have a diesel on the back, I shall never get use to passenger trains being top and tailed. Of course Humberston Road to London is possible if a diesel at the back is doing most of the work.

Cannot see that on the times in RTT, the only non station call appears to be Wigston North Junction and that is only for 11 minutes, a bit short if that is water.

Kettering to Harrowden 32 mins for 3.5 miles.

If RTT or whatever feeds it doesn't have the exact location in its library, it misses it out. An example was Chatburn Overbridge where the LSL Fellsman takes water.

Yes, the nearest recognisable point on the system is used. For example Milton Junction on the GWML is actually about a mile from where water is taken.

I wonder why it is not topping up at Kettering, as it is stopping there, and it is the regular watering hole for steam on the MML? Btw railtour info2022 states steam as far as Humberstone Rd, on the return, and 2x47 from there to London. I guess this is incorrect, but who knows?

It would get in the way of the St Pancras to Corby services which pass each other at Kettering.

It will still be in the way at Harrowden jct, a few miles up the line. It is just as busy there, and Corby trains are only every half hour (and usually almost empty).

The water stop is between Kettering and Harrowden junction, so the service train can go around the charter. The service train arrives at Kettering after the charter, but passes Harrowden before the charter, so goes around it, which is possible based on the track layout shown on open time trains.

I'm on the train and the timings in the booklet say that the water stop is at Wellingborough P4 2107/2133. I will update what actually happens later!

Corby trains do not always pass in the station, as the Corby line is no longer single. Therefore there is no need to wait at Kettering.
