So, I read on RailAdvent that they are going to be operating a Narrow Gauge railway from the Engine House at Highley, anyone know what exactly?
Also, what the other two visitors are, as it will be the Bank Holiday soon and their is going to be lots of planning to do.

Though I will say that the narrow gauge, breakfast and informal dining trains, goods trains plus the usual menagerie of vintage coaches will MORE than make up for no all night runs. :)

It’s amazing that Michael Dunn, the head of commercial and visitor experience can tell Rail Advent this information but then it’s totally absent from the railways own website

It's been an issue for a while (before current management) that things appear in the press a while before they appear on the website.

Kje7812, do you know what the other two standard gauge and narrow gauge visitors are?
I mean, don't worry if you don't, it's only because of this bizarre thing that happens:
Other heritage railways announce their full autumn gala event, even though they don't hold it until after another heritage railways event that hasn't even been fully decided yet.

Yes I’m aware of that too. I thought the website revamp was supposed to make it easier for information to be added along with being more user friendly?

It seems to be the opposite, the old site contained more information and was more logical to navigate round. The new site hasn’t improved on this very issue of information delay. I’m amazed that nobody from the commercial/marketing department have thought to try and tackle it, this information has also been overlooked on social media so it’s not just the website. I would have thought both would have been a priority along with press publicity to reach the largest potential audience.

Branch Lines is out! We hope you enjoy it https://www.svrlive.com/blaug22

As it happens I saw the PR and internal notice board issue (on their release), and read the website - because I was writing the ASG item for the newsletter! I think there were two website pages and it seems one wasn't fully updated immediately.

    Great work as always Patrick.
As far as I could see there wasn’t any of the information on either at the time of posting looking under what’s on or the ticket page, was the information somewhere else I missed?

Thanks for sharing as ever Patrick, there is a ‘but’ coming though! :)
There was an earlier HST tour from Bridgnorth in 1999, September the 19th to be exact I have a feeling it might have gone to Minehead?
There’s nothing on Sixbells Junction but it I remember us passing the empty stock at Kiddy (I was on Pathfinders ‘Park and Ride’ with the superior traction of 37377 and 33103) :)
I seem to recall it being a Great Western Set if that’s any use to anyone.

There was, I was aware of that one too thanks. It's on the Wiki https://www.svrwiki.com/September_18

I didn't have a photo of it I could use though, and Alan Thwaites kindly shared his of the other tour - so that's the one you got!

I also failed in a quest to find D182 on a NE-SW diverted via Kidderminster!

Thanks for the supportive words. Some of these come together seamlessly - this one was a bit of a fight!

Both links refer to 45231 as the first guest. However I notice the first link includes "The SVR will announce two further guest locomotives as soon as these are confirmed" while the second link refers to "…up to four visiting locomotives". The two statements are not mutually incompatible*, but it is a bit of a mixed message.

*(Three is "up to four", or a fourth might be announced at a later date)

I guess they have agreed two guests in principle but still have paperwork to sort out before this can be confirmed, and they are in talks about a 4th but not yet at a point to be confident about it

I'm no big city, fancy social media/ PR person but surely it would make sense to announce this news in the just released monthly newsletter? You don't have to physically stop a printing press, a couple of minutes of typing and publishing would do it. That said, curious if this sparks a flurry of interest in 7325/ 9303 which is supposedly in the queue.

The PR for 9351 refers to two further guest locomotives to be announced as soon as these are confirmed, and ‘one of them is likely to be a lot smaller than visitors might be expecting!’
