It's supposed to be a 6 coach road and a 4 coach road shed.

Even today it might be possible to get a fixed price contract, but I suspect now virtually impossible.
However in the building and manufacturing world unless you can guarantee the spec is 100 % accurate then any decent supplier is going to find things out of spec.
There is almost more skill in trying to minimise variation order impact than agreeing the initial price.
Unfortunately I spent far too much of my working life doing just that.
Why would LSL or SR release the price of Margate storage?

I think you will find that the track beyond the wooden sleeper laid along the siding are not currently connected with fishplates.

They certainly are as most of the siding is now occupied.

Doubt it. You probably be able to view it from a distance from Herston Halt or the public footpath through the field next to the site.

    That's if it gets built...

I assume that like Frome, it has rained a bit in Purbeck.

Might we get steam back in the next day or two>

A bit, it was constant for a while late overnight and early morning.
However the cat did not find it too wet to sit in the flower bed, so obviously little soak in, and the sun is out now.

The flower bed in it's own garden? Something seriously wrong there! :Wideyed:

Well she did "adopt us" about 3 years ago so maybe she still sees it as temporary if something better crops up

Had one like that. She was about seven when she moved in, stayed 14½ years. Deaf as a post and had a touch of dementia in her last couple of years, but lasted until her liver gave out.

Thanks for the "heads up" for tomorrow, I got the same email as you, so looking forward to tomorrow at Swanage, Not so sure if I am looking forward to the drive down from Ferndown if there are thunderstorms and heavy rain as for casted.
Lets hope we can revert to a two steam train service soon.

Nice to see "Eddystone" working today and more importantly plenty of passengers traveling, However the Monsoon weather did not happen except for a very heavy shower at around 3.15pm for 10 to 15 minutes
and another shower at 6.30, for sure it will need some steady rainfall to dampen down things.

We need rain out in in Anglia, although cycling home into the wind this evening was rather nice.

The lightning seemed to be over Swanage for a while and plenty of 'puddling' occurred but suspect much of the downpours went down drains rather than into the soil.
Still it did dampen the dust but I don't know what it did for any farmers who had not yet harvested their crops.
